Maksud dari lirik di atas adalah dua orang manusia yaitu adele dan mantan kekasihnya yang sudah lama saling cinta namun kisah cinta itupun telah usah karena kekasih adele telah menemukan wanita baru dan telah meikahinya. Adele tak percaya akan semua ini karena kejayaan kisah cinta mereka yang dulu telah kandas.
